Albert Nelson Bradshaw, 82, died on March 14, 2011 in Bothell, WA after a 2 year battle with throat cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family. He was born July 16, 1928 in Llano, TX to Hillen and Louise Bradshaw. He joined the Coast Guard in 1945, and then the Army in 1947. He served several years in Japan, followed by two tours of duty in Korea where he was wounded twice. He was next called to serve at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Russia where he met and married Jean Robertson, who worked in the Canadian diplomatic corps. Albert’s service also took him and his family to Germany and Panama.
Mr. Bradshaw was trained as a nuclear power operator while in the Army, and retired a Master Sergeant in Idaho Falls, ID in 1971. He continued on in a civilian career for Argonne National Laboratories at the Idaho Nuclear Engineering Laboratory.
He lived in Idaho Falls until 1993 when he moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID where he enjoyed music and flower gardening. Mr. Bradshaw is survived by his 3 daughters and spouses, Patricia & Ron Deis of Anchorage, AK; Jeanette & Marc Cole of Woodinville, WA; and Linda Bradshaw of Belfair, WA, as well as 6 grandchildren, Susan Melton, Jason Cole, Patricia Dustin, Melissa Dustin, Justin Deis and Michael Deis; and a sister, Johnnie L. Linn, 84, of San Saba, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Lillian Bradshaw in 1982.
Albert Bradshaw was proud of his 26 year career in the Army, and his remains will be interred in a Military burial at the Tahoma National Cemeteryin Kent, WA on June 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. This ceremony will be followed by a Celebration of Life at the home of Jeanette Cole.
