Beloved father and husband Alberto “Al” Mejia Sr. passed away into the loving arms of God on February 9, 2015. He died in Lynnwood, Washington due to health complications.
Alberto Sr. was 50 years old, and is survived by his wife Gloria Reyna Mejia, his father Alfonso Mejia Sr., mother Yolanda Mejia, his son Alberto Mejia II, daughter Yesenia Mejia, daughter Vivianna Alicia Mejia, son Alfonso Julian Mejia, brother Alfonso Mejia Jr., sister Yolanda Mejia, and brother Samuel Mejia.
A creative, brilliant, skilled, compassionate, humorous and dedicated family man, Al Sr. will forever be our good husband and father, loyal brother and son, and true, shining friend.
His family extends their gratitude to Alberto Sr.’s friends, colleagues and customers throughout the Seattle and Puget sound boating and yachting community – where he joyfully gave nearly 25 years of his artistic spirit and labor to the preservation, repair and restoration of thousands of watercraft. He specifically loved his work at Elliot Bay Marina.
According to his wishes in life, Alberto Sr.’s remains will be cremated in Seattle, Washington. Family and friends are lovingly invited to Alberto Mejia Sr.’s life celebration service to be held on Thursday Feb. 19th from 3:30pm to 4:30pm at the Barton Family Funeral home chapel, located at 14000 Aurora Ave North, Seattle, Washington.
