Andrew Pierce, beloved husband of Joan and father of two passed away on July 1, 2014.
Andy was born to Harvey and Marien Pierce on Jan. 23, 1947 and raised on a farm near Iowa Falls, Iowa. In 1967, Andy chose to join the US Navy. The next year he married his true love, Joan, and an adventurous life began. That life would take him to California, around the Pacific, back to California, to Minnesota, Colorado, Minnesota again, and finally Washington state.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He used that to carve a career path as sales engineer of HVAC systems.
Through all this, Andy found a passion for fishing, boating, reading and music. He was a proud member of the Navy Blue Jackets choir, several church choirs, and most recently, the Sojourners (a men’s gospel choir).
Andy will always be remembered for his story telling, his sense of humor, his logical thinking, and his love of family and friends.
Andy is survived by his wife, Joan, his two sons, Dan and Chris, his sister Jackie Carman (Bob) and his granddaughter Hannah.
Family friend, Peter Wilson said, “Can’t you hear the songs he is singing, the tales he is telling up there?”
A celebration of Andy’s life will be held at Bear Creek United Methodist Church, 16530 Avondale Rd NE, Woodinville, WA 98077 on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bear Creek United Methodist Church.
