Bettie Angelos

Bettie Angelos, 86, of Billings, went to be with The Lord, Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, Wash.

Bettie was born March 7, 1928, in West Virginia. She was one of three children born to Samuel and Francis Violet Miller. After finishing high school, Bettie attended nursing school in Ohio, where she became a registered nurse, followed by a career as a stewardess for United Airlines. While temporarily based out of Cheyenne, Wyo., she met and married the love of her life, George Angelos, in 1952. Bettie and George were the proud parents of five sons. Through the early years of their marriage while George attended medical school and began his medical practice, Bettie continued her nursing career and then raised her sons to become devoted parents of their own.

Beginning with their retirement in the early ‘90s, George and Bettie spent winters in Tucson, Ariz., where they enjoyed their retirement together with their many friends and family.

Preceding Bettie in death are her spouse, George; her parents; and siblings, Samuel, Francis Violet, Roy and Charles. Bettie is survived by her five children, Craig (Joan) Angelos of Linden, Va., James (Sally) Angelos of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., Kent (Stephanie) Angelos of Kenmore, Wash., Ward (Jolene) Angelos of Kennewick, Wash., and Blake (Joleen) Angelos of Bellingham, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed gardening, volunteering at her church, crocheting and golf. She loved Jesus, enjoyed singing hymns, and was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Billings. She was a loving mother and grandmother, devoted to the lives of her husband, children, grandchildren and entire family. She was caring, helpful and nurturing, as she passed along love and kindness to everyone who knew her. She is loved and will be deeply missed as Mom, Grandma and friend.

At her family’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 119 N. 33rd St. in Billings. Please make a donation to your favorite worthy cause in remembrance of Bettie Angelos.
