Brian Haner
Brian Charles Haner died on April 12th, 2024, in Kirkland, WA at the age of 58 from a sudden heart attack.
He was born on January 7th,1966 in Mount Vernon, WA and was adopted by Charles and Beverly Haner. He grew up with his younger brother Jeff, and in his early 20’s he met his birth parents and siblings. Brian attended Meadowdale High School as a three-sport athlete playing baseball, basketball, and football before graduating in 1984. This passion for sport continued throughout Brian’s life including lifelong friendships with his teammates, his love for the Seattle sports scene (Sonics, Mariners, Seahawks, UW Athletics and Kraken), collecting sports cards and memorabilia, and capturing in-person autographs from his favorite athletes.
Brian went on to earn a degree in marketing and advertising from PLU, graduating in 1989. After a couple years in the insurance industry, Brian found his lifelong passion in Promotional Products and served as Vice President and General Manager for Adventures in Advertising.
In 1996 Brian became a very proud father to his son, Austin followed by his daughter, Bailey in 1998. Family was everything to Brian and his commitment was obvious to all those who knew him. Brian always had a huge smile on his face while talking about his two kids. He was an incredibly selfless dad and could always be found in the stands supporting Austin and Bailey in all their sports activities.
After several years as a leader in the industry, Brian founded Image Source, initially out of his house, and it quickly became one of the top promotional merchandise agencies in the US. Today, Image Source employees more than 60+ employees and has been consistently recognized as a Best Place to Work. Because of Brian’s hard work and motivation to become a better individual and leader, everyone who worked with and alongside Brian admired his work ethic and passion. While it was important for him to grow the business, more important was the growth in the relationships he formed.
Outside of family and business, Brian loved to visit with family and friends. Brian spent a great deal of time with his mom, visiting on weekends, running her errands, and just talking with her about life. He enjoyed taking care of her and often treated her to a shopping day in Snohomish. He was also very grateful to be able to grow and build his relationship with his birth family starting at the age of 25. He valued family, relationships, and his faith more than anything in life.
Brian loved to surround himself with joy and positivity. His office and house were full of motivational signs and sayings like, “We walk by Faith and Not by Sight”, “Never, Never, Never Give up!”, “Good Vibes”, “Choose to be Grateful”, and “You Got this!” He enjoyed many things in life, traveling was one of his favorites. He loved to take spontaneous trips and adventures, but most importantly go on vacation with his family.
Brian is survived by his mother Beverly Cody, his son Austin Haner, his daughter Bailey Mackenzie, and his son in law Brock Mackenzie. He is also survived by his brother Jeff Haner, his birth mother Jan Ernst, his half-sisters Stacey Moreno and Darci Zalvin, his birth father Doug Finney and his three half-brothers Ryan, Scott and Tyson Finney.
