Carl, dear and gentle husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away surrounded and comforted by his family on October 1, 2010 in Kirkland, WA. He was 75 years old. Carl is survived and deeply missed by Beverly, his wife of 54 years, his son Michael and wife Martha, daughter Kathleen Motta and husband Bob of El Segundo, CA and daughter Lisa Cason (Wiggins) of Sammamish, WA. Carl is also survived by five grandchildren, Ray and Rebecca Motta, Jeff and Beth Cason, and Kendall Wiggins.
Born August 21st, 1935 in Albany, New York, Carl graduated from Albany High School in 1953 and from Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam, NY in 1957, with a degree in electrical engineering. He married his high-school sweetheart, Beverly Jabbour, on February 11, 1956 in Potsdam before moving to Schenectady, NY to work for General Electric. Carl and Beverly moved across the country to Los Angeles in 1958 where Carl worked for Hughes Aircraft for 31 years before retiring in 1989. They established their family home in El Segundo, CA in 1961 and lived there for 34 years. Carl and Beverly moved to Bothell, WA in 1995.
Carl had a love for music, photography, youth sports, genealogy and his community. He was active in Westchester Concert Chorus, Bobby Sox Softball and photographed weddings and portraits. He was especially remembered for photographing El Segundo youth sports for many years. Carl was baptized into Hope Chapel Del Rey in Westchester, CA in 1984 and developed deep and lasting friendships and fellowship at Evergreen Community Church in Bothell, Washington.
We will always remember Carl’s beautiful baritone voice, subtle wit and gentle nature. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to the Evergreen Healthcare Foundation, Hospice Services, 12040 NE 128th St, MS 5, Kirkland, WA, 98034-3013.
