Carl A. Pantiskas
August 11, 1956 -February 17, 2012
At 3pm on Friday, February 17th in the VA Medical Center in Seattle WA, Carl A. Pantiskas lost his gallant battle against ALS.
He was born on August 11th, 1956 in England to Frank and Mariam Pantiskas.
A graduate of Vacaville High School in California, he attained his B.S. at UC Davis and his Masters of Science at Sacramento State University, where he met the love of his life.
He obtained the rank of Captain while serving in the United States Army. He was an active member of the AAMI and received numerous awards for his work in medical instrumentation, human factors and standards. He dedicated his life as a biomedical engineer, working at Spacelabs Medical and Drager Medical as a Senior Clinical Engineer.
He is survived by Kari, his wife of 25 years, his sons Andrew and Matthew, his mother Miriam and brother Gary (Julie) in California, his sister Connie (Jim) Nelson in Illinois, 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
His entombment will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on Thursday, February 23rd at 10:30 am. A public celebration of his life will follow at 1:00 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church; 10021 NE 124th St Kirkland, WA 98034.
