Carol Jean Clemensen – 2013

After years of struggling with age related illnesses, our loving mother Carol 91 passed away August 21, 2023 shortly after listening to music and hearing scriptures read by her beloved friend and caregiver of five years Candace. In the months leading up to her passing, Mom was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, sharing special stories of a life well lived, and years of love and laughter.

Carol Jean Leingang was born on January 23, 1932 to Joe and Agnus Leingang in Seattle, Washington.

Carol was a positive person, always finding the good in every day even during bad times. She loved and devoted her life to her family and others, always placing others before herself.

She was a model in her teens, mother of 5, a teachers aid for special needs children, manufacturing planner for the Boeing Company. A beach comber at heart, loving every moment near the salt water with family and friends. An avid traveler and member of the Boeing Travel Club, skiing the Swiss Alps, visiting counties in Europe and Asia. She loved the Arts, to which she volunteered much of her spare time. A woman with a “Green Thumb” who loved to work in her gardens and yard. And she knew how to fly an airplane.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, brothers Larry and Ronnie, sister Gloria, first husband Arthur Binnie, second husband Owen Clemensen, her first-born son Darrell and niece Lynn.

She leaves behind her children; Darrell’s wife(Casey), Michael (Denise), Linda (Don), Brett (Susan) and Todd. 7 grandchildren,  18 great grandchildren, 14 great, great grandchildren as well as her much loved nieces and nephews; Teresa, Susie, Joe, Pat, David, and Chuck.

Mom, your grateful children, family, and friends  filled with sadness by your passing, will miss you deeply. But we know that you are in a much better place without pain, suffering, discomfort, and physical constraints.

Thank you, mom, for giving us life, so much love and happiness. For teaching us to be thoughtful and caring for others but more than anything teaching us how to love, and to find the good in every person and every day. We were blessed to have you as our mother. “We will meet again when it’s our turn” We love you, Mom !

A celebration of life will be held in October, time, and place yet to be determined. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
