CLEO ROSELIA (LIEBEL) EGAN

Cleo Roselia (Liebel) Egan was born April 10, 1922 on the farm in Grano, North Dakota. She was the 3rd child born to Mr. & Mrs. Charles and Caroline Liebel. Cleo had two older siblings Catherine (deceased) and Charles (deceased) and five younger siblings Dolores (deceased), Bernice, Elaine, Alfred (deceased) and Dwaine. She had five children and is survived by four children, Paul (deceased), Timothy, Pamela, Valerie and Debra. She has 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Cleo lived on the farm in North Dakota and went to Stammen School #2. When she was older she moved into town because her father got a job with the highway department. At age 20 she moved to Kirkland, Washington to work in the shipyards while the war was going on. During that time she met someone that would help her to get a job in the beauty business. So she decided to go to school at Broadway-Edison in Seattle to get her beauty license. She worked odd jobs to pay for her schooling there. Cleo met her husband Charles Willis Egan and married him in 1948. She had five children Paul, Timothy, Pamela, Valerie and Debra. Later, she became a single mother and went out to work but daycare was too costly. She brought the beauty business home and worked with customers there. Cleo later worked for the O’Dea Brothers and did laundry for people to pay for the education for her five children to go to Catholic School. She attended St. Matthews church for many years. She got a job working for The Hearthstone working in the beauty salon and worked there for 30 years as a hair stylist. She had faithful customers who loved her work. She retired from there at age 70. Once retired, she traveled in Rome and back to her roots in North Dakota.
Cleo loved to serve wherever she could. She loved to cook for family, sewed clothes and worked on all her flower pots on her porch. She helped out at her church where needed. She walked everywhere as she did not drive. She loved to go places, visit family and be with her children and grandchildren.
At 87 years old she moved from her apartment to Riverside East, a retirement community in Bothell.
She recently celebrated her 90th birthday on Easter with some of her family and it was a wonderful celebration. On her birthday, she was taken by some of her family on a ferry ride and also had a party given by some of her friends at Riverside East.
