Connie J Fink

Longtime Kirkland resident Connie J Fink passed away peacefully at her home on June 19, 2017 after a courageous six-month battle with brain cancer. She was born on March 30, 1942 in Sisseton, South Dakota to Edna and Robert McLean.

Connie married Hylton Fink in February, 1962 and they resided in Redmond, WA where they had three children. They divorced in 1984 and remained friends throughout the years.

Connie enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. The flowers she grew were beautiful. Connie was a homemaker until her children were in school.

In the late 1970’s, Connie started working at Physio Control and in September, 1988 she worked at the Boeing Company until she retired in December, 2007.

Family was important to Connie. She was her children’s number one fan when son Jerry raced motocross and then all of her children raced cars with the Foreign Stock Car Racing Association (FSCRA). Later, son Jerry went on to race with the Northwest Tour and Connie would be at every race bringing sandwiches and making her famous cookies for Jerry and his pit crew.

Then came the grandchildren. Granddaughter Miranda started to compete in gymnastics. Connie would go to all of the gymnastic meets and cheer-on Miranda. Connie was Miranda’s biggest fan and is very proud of the young lady that she has become. There were also a variety of activities that Connie attended for grandsons Riley and Connor, in which she is very proud of the young men that they have become.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Edna McLean and brother Roger McLean.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa and her husband Bill of Everett, WA, her son Gerald and his wife Pamela of Everett, WA and her daughter Charlette and her husband Gary of Arlington, WA and three grandchildren Miranda, Riley and Connor and a sister Barbara (Cookie) of Oakville, WA and nephew Steven Austin.

Connie is also survived by Charlie Dresen, Jill (Gentry) Frost and Julie (Gentry) Cohen who were very special to her.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at the various Seattle Cancer Care Alliance sites, Evergreen Hospital and Evergreen Hospice for making her treatments, stays and final days the best possible. Her love of life and positive outlook on everything will be greatly missed by all.
