Cynthia K.E. Kozai

Cynthia K.E. Kozai died on December 19 at her home in Seattle.  She was born in Seattle on July 13, 1955 to Kearney Kozai and Betty Kozai.  Cindy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973, and received her college degree from the University of Washington in 1977.  She worked at Columbia Lutheran Home in Seattle for 17 years, and continued to care for seniors thereafter, both in their homes and through volunteering at the Greenwood Senior Center.

Some of Cindy’s happiest times were in the kitchen at the Granite Curling Club in North Seattle. She delivered non-stop food at numerous bonspiels, and was awarded life membership for her many years of service to the Club. She also enjoyed socializing and helping out at Upper Crust Catering’s community meals in Greenwood.

Cindy is shown on the left in the picture with her mother and sisters at the 91st birthday party of her mother, Betty Kozai.  She is also survived by: her sister, Jaynie Pleasants, married to James Pleasants; her sister, Sharon Vukich; niece Emily Good; and nephews Christopher Pleasants, Nicholas Pleasants, and Jake Vukich.  Cindy was battling cancer and received help from Providence Hospice.
