Daniel Francis Shultz

Daniel Shultz

Dan was born in Tonasket, WA on Dec. 4, 1947 to Norman H. and Elizabeth M. (Fieger) Shultz.  He grew up among the apple orchards in Oroville, WA, eventually graduating from Oroville Senior High School.

Immediately after that, Dan was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving several years in Vietnam.  He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars among other awards for his service.  Following his honorable discharge, Dan went back to school, earning a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1973.

Commercial real estate, water conditioners and trampolines, were a few of the businesses ventures Dan organized during his life.

He had many adventures along the way including snow skiing, white water rafting, traveling to see family and sunning at the shore in Kirkland.

Starbucks coffee and crossword puzzles were a few of Dan’s favorite things, as well as dim sum lunches, and a cold beer at the Central while watching his beloved Seattle Seahawks.

Dan is predeceased by his parents, Norman & Elizabeth Shultz; sister, Norma L. Hilderbrand;  brother, James V. Shultz; brother in law Kenneth Hilderbrand and sister in law Wilda Shultz.

Uncle Dan is survived by his niece, Kim (Rob) Safranek, Bozeman, MT; nephew, Rory (Laurie) Shultz, Lynnwood, WA; nephew Bradley Antepenko, Lake Kitsap, WA; niece, Stacey M. Shultz, Fountain Hills, AZ and nephew Todd (Shannon) Antepenko, Gilroy, CA.

Dan will also be greatly missed by his great nephews and nieces: Roy Forrestor, Larissa Shultz, Alexa and Jeremy Safranek, and Zachary and Nathan Antepenko.

He is mourned by cousins, aunts and uncles too numerous to mention on both his mother’s and father’s sides of the family.  Dan also had a wonderful compassionate network of dear friends who also join us in missing him.

Daniel Shultz will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA in the spring of 2018, with a celebration of life to follow.  Details are pending.
