David Walter Quigley, passed away December 17, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his loving family in, Carnation, Washington. David was born in Livingston, Montana to William (Bus) Quigley and Phyllis Young Quigley on July 25, 1942. He grew up in Wilsall, Montana and graduated from high school in 1960. David attended college for a year and then joined the Marines in February of 1962. During his time in the Marines David was sent to Vietnam and proudly served his country. He was honorably discharged, from the Marines in 1965 and returned home to Wilsall, Montana. David left, shortly after returning home and moved to Seattle, WA. He began working at Capital Finance and met his wife Sofia (Brewinski) Quigley. They were married on May 20, 1967.
David and Sofia made Washington State their home, living in several cities and spending time at their Ranch in Ellensburg WA.
David worked for Merchants Credit for 21 years before he purchased the business in 1994. Merchants Credit was the largest locally owned collection agency, in the State of Washington, at that time. In 2000, David acquired Audit and Adjustment, Inc., He then acquired Evergreen Financial Services in Yakima, WA., from 2007-2015. He held the position, board of directors, until current.
He was a King collector of many things; fishing in Alaska and Westport, cows on his ranch, drives on his ranch, hunting with his nephews and enjoying the true beauty of the great outdoors, all season long.
David was a part time farmer, loved the land and anything that had 4 legs, especially deer and elk. That was the Montana in him.
He is proceeded in death by his parents William and Phyllis Quigley, his beloved sister Barbara Poor and his wife of 54 years Sofia (Bewinski) Quigley.
He is survived by his daughters Kelly Quigley, husband Greg Thacker, daughter Kristen Edwards husband Don Edwards, grandchildren David, Madison, Sofia, and Wyatt. He was surrounded by the love of his nephews and nieces.
David lived his life, by his high school motto “ A little horse sense in my head, a little romance in my heart, a little iron in my purpose, will keep me going in this world for as long as it is decent, for me to stay.”
We will be celebrating David’s life with family and friends, Memorial Day weekend.
