Sept. 25, 1963-Nov. 6, 2018
Diana Sherwood Rauen, left us after a courageous fight with cancer. She passed peacefully with her loving daughter, Linnea, at her side.
Diana was a caring person who developed strong bonds with all those she met. She went out of her way to make others feel comfortable and valued. Her smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Diana’s love of travel and making new friends began while living in Japan as a child. Many lifetime friends were made during her time at Marymount International in Rome, Italy. While there, she would travel to spend summers and holidays with her family in Saudi Arabia. Diana excelled academically and continued to do so at Seattle University where she was president of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. She later returned to Seattle U to complete the Executive Leadership Program. In addition to her success in academics, she was an accomplished pianist.
Diana’s first priority was to be a loving mother and worked to ensure that Linnea had every opportunity to pursue her dreams.
Diana had decades of service at Costco where she developed a strong work family in the United States and Japan.
Diana comes from a loving family and was preceded in death by her mother, Yuriko. She is survived by her daughter, Linnea; sister, Deborah; father, Stanley (Virginia); and a large extended family.
Services will be held at St. Louise Catholic Church on Nov. 15th at 11:00 AM. A reception is immediately following.
So many lives are better because of Diana’s kindness, grace, courage, and laughter. Remembrances can be made in Diana’s name to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Thoracic Head and Neck Oncology Research Program.
