Dorothy J. West
Dorothy (Dotty, PITA, GiGi) passed away peacefully at her eldest Granddaughter Brookes home with her husband Tim and her two daughters Lauren and Savannah near. Our family is so appreciative for all they did during her final months and the selfless love they showed their GiGi. Dorothy was born on 08/20/1933 to Clifford C. and Lily P. Pratt. in Fort Lewis, Washington. Dotty was an only child until they adopted Orville into their family. Dotty married Jacob I. 
Simpson with whom she went on to have five children. She later remarried to Gerald West.
Although best known for her shop in Burien “The Proud Peacock” Dotty had worked at Miller Cascade for close to two decades. A very hard worker and stickler for accuracy, she was known for balancing numbers to a T. Dorothy enjoyed many things. She was an avid sports fan to all Seattle teams, loved golfing, dancing, dining out, and vacationing. She was her happiest when near the water. Road trips with her BFF, aunt Sylvia (ibba) were fun and frequent. The two would play canasta weekly with Joann and Sandy, her two cousins she cherished. Family was precious in her eyes and she held each of us close to her heart.
Dotty was a beautiful soul, she was loving, giving, and showed kindness to all. An exceptional woman with style, grace, and dignity. She will be missed but not forgotten by all whom were blessed to have known her. Our memories of her will live on in our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, both sons, Jeffrey S. Simpson, and Brett M. Simpson, as well as her aunt Sylvia “ibba.” Survived by her brother Orville Pratt, three daughters, Pamela Kortlever, Lisa Berglund, Kimberly Simpson, as well as many loving grandchildren whom she adored.
A memorial service will be held at Auburn City Seventh-Day Adventist Church, On April 10th, 2022 starting at noon and followed by lunch shortly after.
