Edward (Ward) Kingma born 11/13/1942, in Patterson, NJ. Passed away on 11/01/2021 at the age of 78 in Bellevue, WA. He grew up and graduated from Wayne, NJ High School. He went on to RISD and then to Syracuse University and graduated in l967 with a B.S. in Industrial Design.
Worked for Boeing in Renton, WA for 7 years in Project Development. He worked on several rapid transit projects from 1972 to 1992 in Atlanta, Dallas, San Francisco, Detroit, Chicago and Boston. Worked on Boston’s Central Artery/Tunnel Project (Big Dig) for 10 Years as Liasson. Returned to Seattle area and retired in 2004. Lived in Bothell, WA since 2004.
Predeceased by parents, Edward and Dorothy Kingma and sister Elizabeth Kingma Kaiser. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ward will be missed dearly by his wife of 52 years, Sharilyn Kay (Brown) Kingma.
Ward enjoyed taking long walks around the neighborhood and talking to neighbors about football, lacrosse, and basketball. Spent numerous hours gardening, wood working, oil painting and calligraphy.
