Edwin Thomas Hunt, 91, of Kirkland passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He was born August 24, 1933 in Seattle to Edwin T. Hunt, Sr and Betty (Hinchy) Hunt.

He was a proud graduate of Seattle Prep and Seattle University where he met the love of his life, MaryAnne McLaughlin.  After graduation he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. When he left the army he joined his father in the real estate business and was a real estate broker in the Seattle area for many years. He later changed careers and was director of a substance abuse treatment center until his retirement.

As a devout Catholic, Ed had a strong faith in God. He dearly loved his family (including all the doggies.) He loved reading, golf and his Irish heritage.  He was a Seafair clown. Ed was a contributor to Ken Burns’ Prohibition documentary, providing valuable details about his father’s involvement in Seattle’s bootlegging scene in the 1920s. Ed gratefully enjoyed a 46 year friendship with Bill W.  Ed was genuinely caring and interested in people from all walks of life. We will remember him as a great conversationalist, and we’ll think of him whenever we eat chocolate.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, MaryAnne, his children Steve Hunt (Shari), Kathleen Beach (Greg), Maureen Madison (Geoff), Trish Lindberg (Torr), Carol Gauthier (Jean-Michel), eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren (and one on the way), and his sister Marguerite Matusak. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sheila Roberson.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at .
