Cathy was born on Nov. 14, 1947 to Pauline and Edmund Hackett. She passed peacefully on May 16, 2015 after a brief illness. Cathy graduated from Holy Names Academy in Seattle, and Seattle University, with a BS in Education. She taught at several schools, and Eton College. Later, she worked for the Social Security Administration until she retired.
Cathy enjoyed travel, and gatherings with her family and friends. She was an active member of Holy Family Parish in Kirkland, WA and in their Bible Study Group. Cathy was a leader in the “Hackett Clan” raising awareness of ALS, Lou Gerick’s Disease, which took her sister in law, Diane Hackett, and nephew Mike Hackett.
Preceded in death by her parents, step father Wallace Hibbard, younger twin brothers Paul and Ed Hackett, and Sister Mary Hackett Leisman. Survived by brother Tom Hackett, sister Margaret Hackett Tarleton and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass will be at Holy Family Parish, 7045 120th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA., June 17 at 11:00AM. A Reception and luncheon celebrating Cathy’s life will follow Mass, at the Holy Family Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Evergreen Chapter ALS Association, and Hopelink, Kirkland, WA.
