Francis “Frank” Roesler, long-time resident of Shoreline and Arlington, Washington passed away peacefully on September 26, 2019 at the age of 84. Frank was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on October 10, 1935 Frank and his parents Ernst Roesler, Margaret Traxinger Roesler and younger brother James Roesler settled in Seattle, Washington in the Greenlake neighborhood. Frank attended Blessed Sacrament School where he was an altar boy in the University District and went on to attend O’Dea Sr. High School on First Hill in Seattle where Frank lettered three years in Boxing and Baseball.
Upon graduation, Frank enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War as a Helicopter Pilot / Mechanic. Upon returning to the States Frank attended University of Puget Sound and received a Bachelors’ Degree in Public Administration. Frank worked at Boeing concurrently and later joined the Seattle Police Department where he served with distinction for 20+ years. Frank married Patricia Ann Murphy until her untimely death in 1977. They had 3 children; Michael of Hong Kong, China, Mark of Mukilteo, WA. and Mary of Bellevue, WA. Frank is survived by all 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as his brother James Roesler. Frank is additionally survived by Alice Bergin his girlfriend for the last 19 years. In retirement Frank enjoyed traveling internationally to Mainland China,
Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Peru, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, England, France and Germany.
Frank was one of the few remaining truly good guys in this world and his unmistakable wit, charm and unwavering loyalty will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
