Gary Wayne Lawver was born in Oklahoma on Oct. 5, 1948. Gary is survived by two younger sisters, daughter, son and daughter in-law.
In 1965 Gary graduated from Newport High School in Bellevue, WA, where he lettered in several sports. Afterwards, he attended the University of Washington majoring in chemistry and minoring in zoology. Gary served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. After an honorable discharge from the military, he had a long career in sales and management. On weekends Gary spent his time water skiing and fishing in the summer, hunting in the fall and snow skiing in the winter. He taught his kids to love the outdoors by involving them in these activities too.
Gary loved his children dearly and considered them his greatest achievement in life. Gary’s daughter Stacy graduated from the University of Washington and is a real estate professional in Washington DC. His son Sean graduated from Western Washington University, is a CPA and Chief Financial Officer for a company in the Seattle area.
After a significant stroke debilitated Gary on Oct. 20, 2016, he passed away peacefully in the loving presence of family on Oct. 4, 2017. Gary will be buried next to his mother and father at Cedar Lawns Memorial Park in Redmond, WA. His family wishes him farewell and eternal peace in the afterlife. Gary will always be remembered as a wonderful loving father.
