Iona (Terri) Kriete, 91 , passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Swedish Medical Center, Edmonds, WA. due to complications from pneumonia.
Terri was born July 26,1925 in Kendall, Kansas. She was the only child of George and Mabel Wilhelm. She grew up riding horses while living on a cattle ranch where her father was the foreman. Graduating during WWII, she moved to California where she worked for Douglas Aircraft installing and testing radios in the C-47. She also worked for the Public Works Officer on Terminal Island in San Pedro. Part of her job was to pick up the mail. It as there she met the love of her life John . He was a navy mailman in the PO. They knew each other for only four months and were married on June 4,1944. They celebrated their 72nd anniversary this past June. Terri enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and many adventures through the years in their boat and camping trips in their RV with their many Good Sam friends.
Survivors includes her husband,John Kriete, sons, John Michael Kriete (Deloris), Richard Kriete (Elaine), daughter, Lani Beug (Pat) , 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Terri will be missed very much by her family and many friends.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 3,2017 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church , 18033 – 15th Pl. NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. Private internment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome at to come at 10:00am for viewing before the funeral mass. There will be a luncheon following the mass at St. Mark’s Sullivan Hall.
