Irvine H. Lange was born January 23rd 1936 on a farm in Lestock, Sask. Canada. He died peacefully Wednesday, November 19th at home with his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
The Family moved to Seattle in 1968 and he worked at Lockheed Shipyard for 4 years. He then joined Local 32 and worked as a Journeyman Pipe fitter, Steamfitter until he retired at 60. The family lived in Burien, surrounded by nice neighbors for 37 years. Wife Myrna retired 2 1/2 years ago and they then moved to Duvall WA. where they enjoyed the peaceful valleys, seeing deer, cattle grazing and bird watching.
Irvine enjoyed golfing, fishing, photography and travelling with his family. His favorite spots were Hawaii and the Oregon Coast. Irvine and wife Myrna continued to travel and he took many pictures. He thoroughly enjoyed helping his neighbors and friends. His biggest hobby was his beautiful flower garden. In Burien he had 68 rose bushes, fuchisias, lilies and many other flowers. When he moved to Duvall, he built 9 flower beds. His labor was therapeutic during his chemotherapy. Irvine had a wonderful sense of humor, and an unquenchable spirit. He showed great strength and endurance throughout his 4 year battle with cancer. His strength of character was a great example to his children. He continued to work in his rose garden until a month before he passed away.
He is survived by his wife Myrna of 46 years and his 2 married daughters, Magen (Joe) Queen and April (David) Runkel and 2 grandchildren, Lucas and Jessalyn Queen. His brother Joe Lange (Marion) and his 4 sisters, Maxine Hendry (Clint), Marlene Goldsmith (Don), Alvina Mitchell (Doug) and Rose Zerr(Eugene).
A memorial service will be held at Wooden Cross Lutheran Church this Monday at 2pm. 17401 198th Ave. NE. Woodinville, WA. 98077.
