Jacqueline (Jackie) Friele Reynolds

Jackie journeyed to her heavenly home April 21, 2012 after an 8 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer. Born July 29, 1952 in Santos, Brazil to Berent and Irene Friele, Jackie was bilingual in English and Portuguese from an early age and loved beach volleyball and Girl Guides. She came to the United States after living and working in London as a nanny, first to San Francisco in 1974 and then to Seattle in 1976. She met her future husband, Tony, through the campus ministry of the Navigators at the UW. They married in 1981, living in Shoreline, Edmonds and Brier.

Jackie worked in several departments at the UW Medical and Dental schools from 1977 to 2005. A cheerful and happy soul who enjoyed friends, a good cup of coffee, laughter and her dogs, Jackie is survived by her husband, Tony Reynolds (Brier), daughter Kerstin Reynolds (Ballard) and sister, Chantal Friele (Scarsdale, NY). She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jennifer.

Jackie loved Jesus and walked in His footsteps. A memorial celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday June 2, 2012 at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 18826 3rd Avenue Northwest Shoreline, WA 98177.

As Jackie wasn’t a very formal person, the family has requested that memorial attendees wear colorful clothing instead of black. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Virginia Mason Medical Center through their website:
