James Jay Hunter

James Jay Hunter passed away at the age of 73 on June 10, 2017 at Virginia Mason Hospital in downtown Seattle.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Okutani-Hunter, his son Teo Hunter and seven grandchildren. Jay was born July 10, 1943 in Auburn Washington.

He worked as an auto body collision repairman until his retirement in 2007. He loved talking to people, helping out friends, neighbors, being with the grandchildren and traveling. He was well known for his “tinkering” in his Garage Workshop and his backyard. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A viewing will be held Sat June 14 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a small private gathering from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Barton Family Funeral Service of Seattle 140th and Aurora Ave N.

There will be a Memorial Service Sun July 30 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ballards Elks.
