Jean Harding left this earth and joined the Lord in heaven on April 2, 2016 in Redmond, Washington. She was born May 4, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts to Pearl Bourden Jacoby and Stanley Jacoby. At age 7 the family moved to Southern California, settling in Temple City. Jean married Charles Harding in 1951 and prior to their divorce raised three children, Kathryn Harding Simmons (Richard E. Simmons); Robert S. Harding (Julia C. Harding) and John C. Harding (Ruth Harding).
In 1980 Jean moved from California to the Washington D.C. area and worked for various agencies including completing her career as an administrator for the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). Jean moved to Redmond, Washington in 1998 to be near her son and family. Jean was an active member at Bellevue Presbyterian Church serving as a Deacon and on many service and hospitality committees. Jean was an avid reader and for many years an active member of Bible Study Fellowship.
In addition to her children, Jean is survived by her grandchildren Benjamin Harding (Marlena Zatloukal); Annemarie Harding Thornes (Jordan Thornes); Daniel Simmons; Krissy Simmons Faith (Tony Faith); Jeremy Harding and Deanna Harding; 3 great grandchildren; her brother and nieces. Jean loved the Lord God Jesus, her family and her church family.
Her welcoming smile and tender spirit will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on April 23, 2016 at Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 1717 Bellevue Ave., Bellevue, WA 98006
