JEAN YOUNG

Family and friends will celebrate the life of Frances “Jean” Young, with a memorial service October 10th at the Woodinville Church of Christ, Woodinville, Washington. Jean passed away Saturday, October 3, at age 88, following a lengthy illness.

Jean was born to Viva and John Robson, May 5, 1927, in Augusta, Kansas. She graduated from high school in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and worked at Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, until her marriage to Bill Young in 1946.

Jean was one of the founding members of the Maxwell Ave. Church of Christ in Ardmore, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked as a secretary in the oil and gas industry for T.C. Craighead and Co. and Bill Hallett, Geologist, and was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club.

After moving to the Seattle area in 1999, Jean cared for her granddaughter, Natalie, and loved gardening, shopping and caring for her dogs. She was an active member of the Woodinville Church of Christ until incapacitated by a stroke four years ago.

Jean is pre-deceased by her parents, a brother and sister, a daughter, Suzanne Young, and son, Murray Young.

She is survived by a son, Michael Young and wife, Karen, of Perkasie, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Alison Smalley and husband, Steve, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; a daughter, Valerie Morris and husband, Walter, of Woodinville, Washington; grandchildren, Melissa Sell and husband, Jon, Andrea Young, Brent Langston and wife, Megan, Michael Langston and wife, Aimee, and Natalie Morris; and great-grandchildren, Madelynne, Caitlin and Avery Sell.
