Jennie Disney passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 30, 2015 after a courageous battle with advanced skin cancer.
Born on August 27, 1938, Jennie Sondra Lund was the daughter of Russell T. and Etta Maureen Lund. Jennie grew up in Southern California.
She attended San Jose State College where she met her husband William (Bill). In 1967, they moved from California to Redmond.
After raising her sons, Jennie returned to work, first at the Amish Quilt Shop in Bellevue, and later for Ethan Allen. She was active in the Brae Burn community and the CAPS sailing club. In her later years, Jennie became an accomplished watercolor artist, learned Tai Chi, and traveled to Europe and Central America. Everyone who met Jennie loved Jennie. She had a spark and a laugh that made the world a better and much more fun place to be.
Jennie’s grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved to spend time with them and teach them about everything from gourmet food to beachcombing. Her children and grandchildren describe Jennie as: a gourmet chef, inspirational, kind, happy, rose whisperer, fun, thoughtful, and creative.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Russell, and sister Diane. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Bill , her sons Scott (Catherine) and Douglas (Debbie), grandchildren Kaitlynn, Brieanne, Peter and Nicholas, and great granddaughter Giavanna.
At Jennie’s request, no funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 24th from 2-4pm at the Brae Burn Country Club.
