Joyce Marlene Snavely died peacefully on March 2, 2020.
Joyce Esparza was born on August 9, 1934 in Fresno, California. She is survived by older brother Bud Esparza. She is predeceased by her sister Donna East and husband Leslie Snavely.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Scott Edward and wife Lisa, Keith Loren and wife Nancy, Brian Glen and wife DoraLee. She also leaves behind her nine grandchildren: Teixeira, Christopher, Marlaina, Bryton, Andrew, Tyler, Jonathan, Danaya, and Sophia. Also, her three great-grandchildren of Andrew and Teixeira Clark; Macie, Camden and Paxton.
Joyce grew up in Fresno and graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Fresno Junior College before marrying Leslie Snavely on June 1, 1956.
They lived in Fresno, Santa Barbara, Exeter and Sacramento California. Les worked for GE and in 1971, the family relocated to the then remote location of Redmond, Washington. Joyce worked for 20 years at CHUBB Insurance in downtown Seattle as a bookkeeper.
Beyond caring and spending time with her family Joyce loved all kinds of crafts, cooking and sewing. She especially loved to share her sewing skills with her grandchildren. She was involved with swimming, bowling and pickle ball at various times over the years. Joyce was active with the food pantry and her church, Holy Family in Kirkland. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 50 years.
