Julie Ann (Shattuck) Walker, 68, of Snohomish, WA passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 after a two year battle with cancer.
Julie was born on January 27, 1947 and adopted at birth by Warren and Ruth (Ray) Shattuck. She spent her childhood in Seattle, WA living on the shoreline of Lake Washington enjoying water skiing and trips to the Seattle Arboretum with her father. After high school, Julie worked in the gift shop at Yellowstone National Park and eventually moved to Colorado where she met her husband and raised her family. Julie married Craig Campbell Walker on March 29, 1969 in Aurora, CO. Julie spent many years working in school libraries which suited her duel love of books and working with children. She especially loved reading mystery novels. Julie and Craig returned to the Seattle area in 1994 where she resided until her death. Julie was an avid gardener and an active member and former president of the Alderwood Garden Club. She and her husband also fostered dogs for the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). Above all Julie loved spending time with her family, tending her gardens, playing games, doing arts and crafts, boating, camping, and attending various functions for her four grandchildren.
Julie is survived by Craig Walker, her spouse of 46 years, and her daughter and son-in-law Lori (Walker) and Jon Bare of Mill Creek, WA and her son and daughter-in-law Brian and Kate Walker, of Bellingham, WA. She was the beloved grandmother of Brett and Jordan Bare and Drake and Trevor Walker.
A memorial service for Julie is scheduled on December 2, 2015 at 2pm at the Mill Creek Four Square Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made in Julie’s name to PAWS of Lynnwood (www.paws.org) or that you plant some flowers in her memory.
