June Evangeline Franchebois, age 86, of Lake Forest Park, Washington, passed away on August 29, 2016, at a hospice care facility in Kirkland, Washington.
She was born on December 7, 1929, in Seattle, the only child of Edward Wells and Ruth (Jones) Wells. As an adolescent, she moved with her mother from Capitol Hill to West Seattle, later graduated from West Seattle High School, and went on to attend the University of Washington. In 1949, she married fellow Seattleite Robert Pintler; together they reared three children—Larry, Diane, and Jodi. The couple divorced in 1975, and June subsequently wed James Franchebois, a Boeing machinist originally from Opelousas, Louisiana.
As a girl, June was an enthusiastic swimmer and modeled clothing at the Frederick & Nelson department store. In her adulthood, she was a lover of gardening, antiques, cooking, and reading. She was very involved in her close-knit neighborhood, and with husband Jim—who for many Christmases has portrayed Santa Claus at Lake Forest Park Town Center and other venues—she appeared as Mrs. Claus.
June will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jim Franchebois; children Larry (with wife Barbara), Diane (with husband Kim Brumble), and Jodi (with husband Jeff Pierce); grandchildren Amie-June Brumble (with husband Tyler Morrison) and Jason Brumble (with wife Ilana); and great-grandchildren Gareth Morrison and Ezrie Brumble.
A funeral mass for June will be held on Thursday, September 22nd at 11:00 AM at Saint Mark Catholic Church, 18033 15th Place NE, Shoreline, WA. Reception following in the Parish Hall. Her remains are to be buried at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, also in Shoreline.
In lieu of flowers, please remember June with a donation to the hospice or charity of your choice.
