Kenneth William Johnson passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, May 22nd at his home in Renton surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends while enjoying the sunshine on the deck. Ken was born on November 7, 1961 in Denver, Colorado to Fern Ostrom and Ron Johnson. Ken is survived by his wife, Randi McDonald, son Evan Johnson (Ilyssa Johnson), daughter Elaine Johnson (Brandon Monroe), mother Fern Ash (Jerry Jaeger), father Ron Johnson (KL Johnson), brothers Doug Johnson (Michelle Johnson) and Dave Johnson (Katy Johnson) and as well as many nephews and nieces.
Ken graduated with a computer science degree from Colorado State University and started his career as a software engineer at Boeing. He continued that career at Palm Computing and finally as a software manager at Airbiquity.
Ken spent several years rock and alpine climbing and was heavily involved as an instructor for the Boealps Climbing Club as well as belonging to Everett Mountain Rescue. He also enjoyed scuba diving, hiking and sailing. Later in life he became a golf-a-holic spending nearly every weekend golfing with his wife. Ken and his wife also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and many parts of Europe over the years.
Ken had a special love for music and enjoyed seeing bands at the Showbox and other venues around Seattle. He also had a love for the opera and had season tickets for many years attending with his mother-in-law.
Ken was a sensitive and kind individual and touched many lives in his time on earth. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
