In loving memory of Luella “Lou” Elenora Erickson.
August 18, 1921 to July 29th, 2013.
Lou was born in Lincoln Minnesota to parents Helen and John Grassinger. She grew up with her brother Bob and grandmother on a dairy farm. She liked milking cows, and loved riding bareback on her white speckled horse.
After the second world war, she met her future husband Arvid Erickson at a dance in St. Paul, Minnesota. After they married, they moved to Pasadena, California in search of better weather.
A few years later they moved to Garden Grove. Luella made new friends there playing Bridge and loved going to Angel baseball games. She ran a day care in her home when her children were small, and then became an office manager for orthodontist Burt Schild. Lou was instrumental in introducing her son Ron to his future wife Annie.
After Arvid passed away, Lou met Bob Kilday at a dance while living in Mission Viejo CA. They became partners and lived together for many years. Lou took up golf, joined Bob at his tennis club parties, and volunteered many years for the local hospital.
Throughout her life, Luella always had a large number of friends and extended family. She was loved by all. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up, and was a terrific grandmother, mother, and mother-in-law.
She and passed away peacefully on July 29th 2013 in Redmond, Washington, with her daughter by her side. She is survived by her daughter Sandra, daughter-in-law Annie, and grandchildren Andrew, Laura, Ellie, Emily, and Leah.
