Marion Magill Miller, age 98, of Bellevue, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank E. and Margaret Elizabeth Williams, her identical twin, Margaret Ellen Williams, all of Billings, Montana, a sister, Franklyn Reed and brother, Bob Williams.
Marion was raised in Billings, Montana. In 1934 two years following high school she graduated from Eastern Montana State Normal School and taught elementary school for a number of years. In 1942 she received her B.A. from Colorado State College of Education in Greeley followed by several more years of teaching in Montana. At one time or other she taught in Wyola, Great Falls, Livingston and Billings.
In 1945 she met Army Captain, Joseph S Miller, a fellow choir member of the Presbyterian Church in Great Falls, Montana. A year later they married and moved to Bellevue, WA where Joe opened his law practice following completion of his degree from University of Washington. They raised their family and lived the remainder of their lives in Bellevue.
Marion loved to sing and for decades sang soprano in the Bellevue First Presbyterian Church Choir. She enjoyed tending her beautiful garden and grew all the family’s vegetables. Daily she kept up with national and local politics, loved a current events discussion and was a die-hard Republican. With her husband, Joe, she faithfully served for years in Gideon’s International, frequently as an officer. In later years, Marion loved following the Mariners!
Marion is survived by her 3 grown children: R. Craig Miller of Kirkland, WA, Bruce A. Miller of Newburg, Maryland and Lynn A. Benson of University Place, WA. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. A special thank you to her caregivers at Mari’s Home Care in Kirkland, WA where she received excellent care the final, nearly 3 years of her life.
Marion, “Mom”, will be greatly missed!
