Marlene Daisy Schmidt, age 80, passed away peacefully Monday, April 20th,
2015 while residing in her home in Bellevue, Washington.
Marlene was born May 28th, 1934 in Ballard, Washington, daughter of Raymond and Alice Johnson and younger sister to Delores. She attended Ballard High School and graduated with the class of 1952.
Marlene married Floyd L. Schmidt on August 29, 1953. They met in Seattle and were married 47 years until his death in 2000.
Marlene is survived by her sister Delores McKnight and Marlene’s four
loving children, Cheryle (Greg) Munson, Denise (Don) Boland, Donald
(Jeanne) Schmidt, Rhonda (Sean Moore) Dore and one grandson, Andrew (Kelly)Dore, a great-grandson, Archer Dore, and nieces, nephews, extended family and long-time friends.
Marlene adored children and after raising her own family she went on to
nanny for a neighboring family in Greenwood for many years.
Those who knew Marlene would describe her as positive, happy and having a great sense of humor. Marlene looked forward to the magic of Christmas each year. She was generous and enjoyed celebrating the holiday with her loved ones.
Marlene also loved the Seattle Seahawks. She has been their number one fan since the Seahawk’s first kick off in 1976. The family smiles while recalling that Marlene would never miss watching a game and refused to take calls at game time. She was over the moon when they arrived at the Super Bowl.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the dedicated and
sincere staff of Bellevue Sunrise Senior Living for their respectful care.
