Michele Louise Cosgrove 58, of Lynnwood, WA passed away suddenly on May 22, 2024. Her unexpected loss leaves her family, friends, and community profoundly saddened.
Michele was the definition of a people-person. A kindhearted woman who always put others before herself. She lived a life full of generosity and charity. She spent her children’s younger years involved in their school’s PTA programs, classroom helpers, and cheering for her children’s sport teams. Michele spent many years fundraising for and participating in the Susan G Komen 60-mile 3-Day Walk for a Cure, where she built many long-lasting friendships. Michele has a wide network of community that loves her that includes childhood friends, extended family, past and present neighbors, grocery store clerks, dental hygienists, doctors, and the librarian. She made a connection every place she went.
Michele fondly recalled her careers in the restaurant industry and the engineering firm where she met her husband Leo. She often recalled her time as the IT administrator for a manufacturing firm, where she built a successful career. She suffered a brain injury and was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2002, forcing her to leave the workforce. She went on to raise a strong family with her big heart and outgoing personality. She taught us how to make somebody’s day better, with an offer to help out and a flash of her contagious smile. Michele was incredibly proud of her family and her children’s accomplishments. She will be remembered for how much she loved to help others, and how she made sure everyone she met felt cared for and welcomed. She was a ray of bright light that should be remembered for her brilliance and purpose she brought to the world.
She leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Leo Cosgrove, her children Jacob and Lacey, her siblings Taime Downe, Lisa Cline (Megan, Brandon, Maryjo and Eric), and Marnie Smitley (Kaitlyn, Kelsey and Chance), her mother Mary Corey, and step-father ”Dad” Michael Hutchison and her extended family in-law the Cosgrove’s and many, many friends.
Her passing has come as a great shock that is gravely felt by all who knew and loved her. A funeral service will be held at St. Pius X Parish in Mountlake Terrace, WA on June 14, 2024 at 10:00am. A reception will follow. We invite all who know and love Michele to attend.
