Morris M. Dean

Morris M. Dean passed away in Kirkland, Washington on January 15, 2015. He was two months shy of his 70th birthday. He was a treasured son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.

He was born in Port Angeles, Washington to Genny and Ernie Dean. He was a Roughrider at Port Angeles High School, where he graduated in 1963. He went on to attend the University of Washington. Putting his college career on hold, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1966 and completed a tour of duty in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Following his tour, he was stationed at Hill Air Force Base near Ogden, Utah. It was here that he met the love of his life, Glenna Clawson. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple and were married for 44 years. He was an active member of the LDS faith.

Morrie returned to Washington with his new wife and resumed his education at the University of Washington, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

MorrisDean3Morrie was an accountant in his professional career. He was always very involved with his children’s activities. He spent a number of years coaching his four children in baseball, softball, and soccer. He also dedicated many years volunteering in the community and in church callings.

Morrie had many hobbies. He loved to watch Seattle sports teams play, and especially loved attending Mariners games. He loved to golf withMorrisDean1 his children, and was active in researching family history. He loved to spend his weekends in Sequim, visiting his mother on the beach in Sequim Bay.

He is survived by his wife Glenna, son Randy, son Ben, daughter Domini, daughter Brenda, and grandchildren of Paige, Zach, Hunter, Parker, Madison, Kaden, and Justine as well as many other family and dear friends.

The viewing is planned for Wednesday January 21st from 7:00-9:00PM at the LDS Totem Lake church building (13220 NE 132nd Street Kirkland, WA). The funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday January 22nd at the same location. The military internment will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery at 2:00PM (18600 Southeast 240th Street, Kent, WA).
