Muriel Megan Hanvey was a sister, wife, mother and (Nanny Mu to the grandchildren), 94 of Kenmore Washington passed away on June 3rd @ 4:50 pm at home with her oldest and younger sons and their wives.
She was born January 6th 1920 to Thomas and Chrisley Harris in Pontypridd S Wales. She was oldest of 4 children, 2 brothers Graham, Raymond and Sister Gwyneth. She had out lived all her friends and family.
She had 14 grandchildren and about 14 great grandchildren.
When she was 14 she was sent away from home to work in London with handicapped children during WWII. She met her husband during that time (Maurice Hanvey) and was married in late 1940. They then had 4 children Lynn, Terry, Ian and sister Pat. Then in 1956 they emigrated to Canada with the Boeing transplants. In 1957 they moved to the Seattle area and their youngest son, Michael was born. She lived in Medina Wa. From 1958 until 2008 then moved into her oldest son and his wife until the time of her death.
She was an avid traveler and had been to many countries all around the world.
Muriel was a member of Daughters of the British Empire for 50 years, also enjoyed going to the Welsh Women’s Club. She was a long time member of the Bothell Senior Center, and loved Bingo.
She loved to garden and take trips to the mountains and going to Edmonds to be by the sea.
