Nancy Leah Morris

March 19, 1932 – July 1, 2015

Nancy Leah Morris (nee Smith) passed away on July 1, 2015 at the Heart to Heart Adult Family Home in Bothell. She was 83 years of age.

Nancy was born in Seattle on March 19, 1932 to Robert and Nancy Smith. She attended Bellevue High School and was very proud to have played in the State Finals for their basketball team in 1950.

In 1957 she began working at Puget Sound Power and Light Company in the steno pool. Many of the younger employees affectionately called her “Mom”. After 37 years of service she retired from Puget in 1994 as the manager of their credit union. Her proudest moment was when the State Auditor told the V.P. of Finance that Puget’s credit union was one of the best run credit unions in the State of Washington. She loved her job and made many life-long friends at Puget during her time there. Unfortunately most of them passed before her and she missed them terribly.

moms-photoNancy lived most of her life adult life in Kirkland. Nancy’s greatest passions were her grandchildren, pet dogs, bingo, and her gambling trips to Reno. She also enjoyed counted cross-stitching, silk flower arranging, as well as firing and painting ceramics.

She had a chance to travel to Alaska a couple of times, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and nine European countries. She was so thankful to have had the chance to travel while she was still healthy.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Gary Nevius, step-son Roger Morris, sister Margaret Gallert, granddaughter Deanna Schiller, and grandson Ryan Schiller and his wife Truc.

A celebration of life will be held at the home of her daughter on July 12, 2015 between 11 and one o’clock. The address is 1724 214th Street SE, Bothell, WA 98021 425-487-2228.

Her caring love and sense of humor will be greatly missed!
