Nathan Pomerantz, 97, of the Panorama House, Seattle died unexpectedly on July 28th. A native of New Jersey he wintered in Hollywood Beach, FL. He led a full and very sociable life encompassing most of the 20th as well as the beginning of the 21st century. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the mid-1930s, working in fish hatcheries in New Jersey; a U.S. Army veteran of the South Pacific theater in World War II; a union representative; taxicab operator; and a longtime federal government employee. He retired from the Postal Service in 1973 and enjoyed a long retirement in Florida before moving to Seattle in 2004. Married for 66 years to his beloved wife Helen he was widowed in 2006.
