Carmela L. Napoli, 94, passed away on May 4th in Redmond, Washington. She was born on June 21st 1921 in Seattle, Washington to Antonio and Assunta Napoli.
Carmela grew up in Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle. After high school she graduated from Business College and attended classes at University of Washington. She worked for The Federal Government as a secretary and then executive secretary including the Federal Aviation Administration where she worked for 33 years.
Carmela was a member of the “Order Sons of Italy in America” (Fedele – Seattle Lodge), she was the recording secretary for the club for 30 years. She was the Director/editor of the Northwest Italian News for 13 years. She enjoyed reading and trying new things. She also received awards from the FAA for Employee of the Year in 1980 & Meritorious Award winner from the National Order of Sons of Italy in 2005.
Carmela is survived by her sister Margaret Johnson of Redmond, WA and her many nieces, grand-nieces, nephews and grand-nephews that she loved as her own children.
Carmela was preceded in death by her parents Antonio & Assunta, sisters Rose McGerry and Elizabeth Branica.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Family Church – 7045 120th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA. 98033.
May 12th, 2016 / Rosary at 10:30AM followed by funeral mass at 11:00 on. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at Holy Family Reception Hall after the funeral mass services. Burial will follow the reception at Lake View Cemetery (family only).
