Lawrence Joseph Dixon, aged 69, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Renton WA, of natural causes on September 19th, 2015.
Larry was a decorated Veteran of the Vietnam War who served in the Navy between 1966 and 1970. He resided the majority of his life in the Seattle area working with his real estate company, Dixon and Associates, on development and brokerage of real estate in the Pacific Northwest.
Larry spent his life doing what he loved, close to the mountains, lakes, and wildlife that called to him. He was known in his community as a strong and vital advocate for wildlife conservation and land management. As a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, dedicated member of Safari Club International, and the NRA, Larry was known in his community as a lover of nature and sport. His love of people and camaraderie kept him involved with many groups and organizations where he made many lifetime friends. The wildlife conservation communities and lifelong friendships will not be the same without him.
Larry was driven by his passion for fly fishing and hunting, and had the opportunity to hunt in several different countries, regaling friends and family with stories of his adventures. Much of his life he left documented in stories, awards, and photographs, left for his children and grandchildren to cherish. All of his memories of fly fishing, hunting, horseback riding, snowmobiling, wine, good food, holidays, and laughter, will be remembered.
Larry is survived by his children: Tracy Dixon of Spokane Valley, Barbara Clayton of Spokane, and Scott Trudeau of Lake Stevens. Sister: Kathy Poe, Brother: Kevin Dixon. His grandchildren: Myles Siegel, Ashley Rogers, Hannah Trudeau, and Jackson Trudeau. Extended family, and beloved friends.
