Lois Miriam Jackson, of Bellevue, passed peacefully on July 13, 2015 at the age of 90. Lois was born on April 29, 1925 in Douglas, Wyoming to Lila and James Jason Taylor. Lois attended Montana State University and earned a degree in Bacteriology where she met Rollin Joel Jackson (1923 – 2010), her husband of 61 years. Lois grew up in Montana and moved to Bellevue with Rollin when he became employed at PACCAR as Engineer for 35 years and she pursued her career as a Medical Technologist before devoting her life as a full time mother.
Lois and her late husband Rollin Joel were the loving parents of six children. She was a kind, compassionate woman of strong character and led an active life. Her interests included a love of gardening and being a long time member of the South Bellevue Garden Club, an avid bridge player, an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, participation in the Seattle Norwegian community, an avid reader and recorder of genealogy. Lois raised her children with loving patience, a sense of purpose and strong character. She valued education and attending closely to each child in pursuing this goal. In her later years she enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and traveling throughout Europe with Rollin. She will be missed and always loved by her family and many friends.
Lois is survived by five children and their families: Charles Jackson and his wife Donna; Gail Davis and her husband Eric, Joan Jackson; Lesley Hotchkin and her husband Micheal; Robert Jackson and his wife Kathryn; her grandchildren Christine (Jackson) Hiatt, her husband Rob and great granddaughter Elaine; Lisa (Jackson) Snider and her husband Lucas; Justin, Colleen and Kristen Davis; Adam Stilz; and Taylor, Drew, Abby and Laura Jackson; and her brother Keith Kibbe and his wife Judy.
Lois will join her husband Rollin, daughter Lynne, her granddaughter Bethany, and her brothers Jim Taylor and John Kibbe.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in her honor on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:30 am. The service is will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue, WA 98007.
