1/24/1937 – 2/10/2015
On February 10th, with family by her side, Linda accepted God’s invitation to join Him in His home in Heaven.
Linda was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2007. She lost her life after a 7 1/2 year battle. She fought all the way to the end.
Linda was born on January 24th, 1937, to Pete and Helen Schultz of Reardan, WA. She graduated from Reardan High School in the class of 1955. She attended Washington State College, graduating with an English degree in 1959. It was here that she met her beloved husband, Lloyd. They married on December 27, 1959.
Linda taught school in Seattle’s Highline School District. In 1961, Lloyd was transferred to Dallas, TX. Here, their two daughters, Jennifer Ann and Cynthia Lee, were born. After five years in Dallas, they transferred to Atlanta, GA. In 1970, they returned to the Seattle area, settling in Bellevue, WA, where they lived for the next 37 years. Seven years ago, they moved to the Trilogy community of Redmond Ridge.
During her time in Bellevue, Linda became involved with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), an in-depth, expository Bible study program. She was a BSF leader for years and developed many close, lifelong relationships through the experience. Linda also embarked on a new career. She went into retail sales, working for her dear friend, Lynn Morris, who owned a candy store in Gilman Village, Issaquah, WA. When the business expanded to include a restaurant, Linda took over management of the candy store.
Linda was an exceptional cook and loved to entertain. Through the years, she led and participated in many Bible studies. She was a treasured teacher and mentor to numerous individuals.
Linda and Lloyd traveled to many parts of the world after their retirement. They enjoyed several trips with Linda’s cousin, Pat Rankin (John), who grew up with Linda, and was like a sister to her.
Linda leaves behind many friends and family members, including her husband of 55 years, Lloyd E. Johnson, daughters, Jennifer J. Shettleroe (David), Cynthia Schlemlein (Kirk), and grandson Jacob L. Shettleroe. She will be deeply missed.
