Sabina Rose Sabo


Sabina Rose Sabo, née Dugan, age 93, a San Diego resident for 40 years, and formerly a long-time resident of Ft. Wayne, IN, died peacefully during a short hospital stay while visiting family near Seattle on January 12, 2015. Sabina’s many friends and her loving family remember her vitality, good humor and warm heart.Sabo2

 

Sabina was born in New York City, to Mary (Broadhead) and George Dugan, on November 17, 1921. Sabina’s husband John Sabo predeceased her in 1994, after fifty years of marriage. She is survived by her seven children, and their spouses: Sabina “Bonnie” and Daniel Renn; John and Cynthia Sabo; Shawn and Amy Sabo; James and Lisa Sabo; Margaret and Stewart Wills; Teresa and Kent Anderson, and Jennifer and David Salem, and by her sister Margaret Gardner, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A dear friend of her later years, John Noble Sr., died in 2010. Sabina was an active parishioner with St. Jude Church in Ft. Wayne, and Saint Catherine Labouré Church in San Diego. She worked for over twenty years at San Diego’s Sears stores.

Sabo1Memorial services will be in San Diego at St. Catherine Labouré Church on Friday, February 6 at noon (rosary at 11 am); and, in Ft. Wayne, in the Hessian Center at St. Charles Borromeo Church on February 28 at noon. Sabina will be interred alongside her husband at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
