Linda graduated from Ballard High School in Seattle in 1962. She worked in the cosmetics department at Fredrick & Nelson until she became a Flight Attendant for United Airlines in 1964. She loved flying and was based in Chicago until her first marriage in 1967 to Robert Larsen (divorced 1968). Fired from United Airlines for being married, she returned to Seattle and went to work for Nordstrom. She moved to Anchorage, Alaska and married Reg Buchanan in 1975 and gave birth to Leandra in 1977 and Patrick in 1979. Linda moved back to Seattle in 1982 following a divorce, and returned to United Air Lines in 1983. Linda married Rob Tumpach in 1985 and divorced in 1994. She continued working for United Airlines until retiring in 2002.
Linda enjoyed trips to Hawaii and the Oregon coast with her 2nd family, the Callisons, in earlier years. She kept in constant communication with her beloved cousin, Charlotte Lanes, over the years. Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthdays were anticipated with much preparation and happiness. Highlights of recent days were Tuesday morning breakfasts with family. Linda and her sister Jan enjoyed a trip to the beach last June, daily phone calls, and a great weekend last month, shopping, eating and laughing. She and Jan were in the process of planning a cruise to Hawaii in March or April. She loved Kauai where she spent a couple of weeks with Larry and Betty last year.
Linda will always be remembered for her beauty, her smile, quick wit and her love of family. She loved people and was always up for a party!
A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held on March 15th at 11 a.m. at Mill Creek Community Church located at 16415 North Rd, Bothell, WA 98012.
