Maryan Shaw Corrigan

Maryan Shaw Corrigan passed away peacefully on May 29th. Maryan, the middle of five sisters, was born in 1924 in Seattle to Gordon and Freddie Shaw. After graduating from Broadway High School, she worked in Gordon’s grain brokerage and in 1950 married Robert (Bob) Corrigan. Together they raised five daughters—Katie, Pat, Janet, Barb and Mo—living first on Capitol Hill and later in Bellevue.

Maryan loved being a homemaker—spending time with her kids and their friends, baking, crafting, volunteering at school and church events, swimming, and spending time in her garden. After Bob retired, they enjoyed travel.

Maryan was predeceased by Bob in March 2012; her parents, and three sisters. She is survived by her daughters; sons-in-law; eight grandchildren; her sister, Agnes; and many nieces and nephews.  Maryan will be remembered as a loving sister, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family, playing Scrabble and Uno and other games, as well as receiving manicures from her granddaughters. She will be greatly missed.

A funeral mass was held at St. Louise Church in Bellevue on June 13.
