Violet Viola May Rohrs, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Redmond, WA. She was born to George and Florence Bretthauer on September 24, 1917 in Columbus, North Dakota. She lived in Yakima for over 57 years and was known to many as the bookkeeper at Downtown Bookkeeping and Tax Services for 31 years.
Violet is survived by her son, Vic Perez of Juneau, Alaska; her daughter, Patricia Gawenka of Redmond, Washington; her daughter, Bonnie Dombrowski of Selah, Washington; eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rohrs of Yakima, Washington; her daughter Louise; her grandson John Perez; her brother, Robert Bretthauer; her sister, Irma Curtis; her brother, Harold Webb; and her sister, Dorine Lenberg. Violet lived a very full and happy life. She will be missed greatly by the many people whose lives she touched over the years.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Violet’s niece, Elnora Turner of Yakima, WA for the love, support and care she gave her aunt through the years; to Sammamish LakeView Adult Family Home for all their excellent care of Violet during the past year, and to Evergreen Hospice Services for the wonderful end of life care they provided..
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 4 at 2 p.m. at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima, Washington.
