Marion Helen Kathleen Westby McClenny

Marion Helen Kathleen Westby McClenny

Proverbs 31:28-29 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also,
and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

Marion was born on April 20, 1921 in Eureka Montana and died, at the age of 90, on
April 29, 2011. Marion is survived by her husband Lindsay, her five children (Claire,
Joan, Jan, Peggy, & Ed) and by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marion married Lindsay McClenny after graduating from the University of
Washington. When Lindsay graduated from medical school the two of them started
their life in missions in Alaska, moving on to the Sudan, then South Yemen, Ethiopia,
and Haiti. She wore many hats, taking on any role that was needed; teacher, lab
technician, pharmacy manager, accountant …

Her life was characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. She also had a great sense of humor.

We invite you to celebrate Marion’s life with us at Alderwood Community Church on
May 6, 2011 at 11:00 am.

Over the past months Marion was often moved to tears over the accounts of those
suffering through out the world, with a special concern for “the children”. In the
weeks before she died we started a “goat fund” envelope to collect money to buy
goats for children in the developing world. Instead of sending flowers, we invite
you to help build a flock of “Marion goats” by making a donation to Christian
Veterinary Mission’s “give a kid to a kid” program.
(Tribute information can be completed on the bottom of the donation form.)
