Lucille Etta Wentworth went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 16, 2010. Born to John and Emma Stein on February 3, 1920 in Killdeer, North Dakota she enjoyed telling tales about growing up with five older, protective brothers.
During the Great Depression, she moved out west with her parents to Vancouver, Washington. After graduating from Fort Vancouver High School, she worked at Howard’s Ice Cream Shop. It was there she met Staff Sergeant Robert F. Wentworth. They were married on June 7, 1943. “Bob” was deployed in the European Theater during WWII.
Lucille loved being a mother to their three children; Cheryl, Steven and Nancy, and was a dedicated, loving mother. With Bob’s support, Lucille believed that foremost their children’s relationship with Jesus Christ came first. Her guidance and encouragement was foundational to their spiritual, academic, and personal growth.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, her parents, and six siblings. She is survived by three children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Lucille’s life is planned for February 5, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church, 18652 116th Avenue SE, Renton, Washington. The service will begin at 11:00am with a reception following.
