Delores, 74, of Snohomish was called to heaven on November 3rd 2008.
Delores was born in Wenatchee Washington on November 17th 1933 but spent most of her life in the town of Snohomish. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, her brother William, her two granddaughters Misty and Ashley and her Mother and Father, William and Edna Froembgen.
Delores is survived by her children, Fred Prain of Everett, Lori Alsup (John) and Sherry Mitchell both of Snohomish. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Prain, Chad Alsup, Crystal Morgan, Brandon Prain, Jennifer Alsup, Travis Alsup, Nathanael Mitchell, Bambi Alsup and Jacob Mitchell, and a great granddaughter, Khylie Mae Prain. She also leaves her sister Arlene Ramsey of Seattle, nieces and nephews David, Debbie, Michelle, Roger, Cheryl and several great nieces and nephews.
Delores graduated from Snohomish High School in 1952, and as a young adult she really enjoyed roller skating with her friends.
On November 22nd 1958, Delores married Fred Allen Prain. Fred was in the Air Force and was stationed in Mountain Home Idaho. They moved to Mountain Home Idaho after they were married.
In March of 1960 they were blessed with their first child, Fred Allen Jr.
A few years later, when they were stationed in Guam, they were blessed with their first daughter, Lori Ann.
Fred was then stationed back in the states and this brought them home to Snohomish where they made a home on Lincoln Ave and they were blessed with their third child Sherry Lynn.
Soon after they moved back to Snohomish, Fred and Delores purchased their home on Avenue H where they spent all of their life together.
As their children grew older, she took on a part time job where she delivered the Everett Herald to several customers in the city of Snohomish every afternoon. The afternoon paper soon became the early morning paper and Delores still kept her route and even took on a couple more routes. She ended up delivering the paper to a lot of the residents in the city of Snohomish.
City residents of Snohomish knew Delores as “the paper lady”. Even though Delores delivered hundreds of papers every day she was still very dedicated to taking care of her children and grandchildren. Delores delivered The Herald for over 29 years, faithfully.
Delores attended church regularly and had a very strong belief in her faith.
She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She also had a love for animals and had several dogs and cats throughout her life.
Delores retired from delivering The Herald in 2003. She looked forward to her retirement but dearly missed her customers.
Delores spent her remaining years at Golden Care Adult Family Home. She was very happy and comfortable there. The family would like to thank the owner and caregivers for all the love and great care they gave our Mom. She was loved and very well taken care of.
Memorial services will be held on Friday November 7th 2pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Snohomish, Wa.
